Academic Maps Our new B.S. in Health Administration focuses on developing administrative and organizational skills for leading health agencies, as well as understanding and addressing community-level health issues and their impacts on individuals, families, and the surrounding community. Our program, with its concentrations in Community Health and Health Informatics and a focus on rural community health, will uniquely prepare you for this career field, whether you’re looking for a position in a small town, a big city, or anything in between.
Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in practical, out-of-the-classroom service learning and internship experiences that connect you with industry practitioners and local employers. You’ll also get to participate in what we call “community-based challenge learning”–helping local organizations address the real community health challenges they’re facing, from obesity to mental health to drug and alcohol abuse. It’s a unique and rewarding way to prepare for your future career in Health Administration.
