Early College
UMPI provides high school students opportunities to save time and money as they work towards their college degree and enrich their learning experiences while still in high school.
Online Programs
If you’re looking for an online degree program that combines a high-quality classroom experience with the convenience of distance learning, UMPI has a range of programs designed with you in mind. We offer Online Programs in English, History, and Psychology, as well as our YourPace program, which includes Bachelor’s degree completion offerings in a dozen areas and our new Graduate offering, the Master’s of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
YourPace
A degree through our YourPace program is the same as any other degree UMPI offers, but how you learn works a little differently. Instead of taking traditional, 15-week classes, you master individual competencies to advance through coursework—and the faster you prove your knowledge and move ahead, the more you save.
Houlton Center
UMPI is proud to provide educational opportunities to the people of southern Aroostook County, northern Penobscot County, eastern Washington County, western New Brunswick, Canada, and beyond through its Houlton location. The Houlton site includes offices for several educational partners, including the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and TRIO (Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Maine Education Opportunity Center). Through UMPI, the Center also hosts High School Aspirations, aimed at increasing the number of students who access and succeed in college.
Center for Innovative Learning
Housed within our Center for Innovative Learning, our Library provides friendly and helpful reader and reference services. Stop by the circulation desk, located on the first floor of the CIL, for any questions or to ask for help finding any books or reference materials. Our physical collection is available on the second floor of our building. Many more resources are available electronically and you can access them right here through the website or we can teach you how to use them at one of the computer workstations at the CIL.
Lifelong Learning
UMPI is here to support students and promote premier scholastic achievement, provide services and resources for personalized learning, and offer lifelong learning opportunities for the campus community.
TRIO
If a bright future for yourself, your child, or your students is what you are looking for, you’ve come to the right place – TRIO College Access Services. We believe the jobs of the future will more often than not require some form of higher education. In addition, study beyond high school is linked closely with higher salary levels, and steadier employment, even in a recession.
OpenU

OpenU is a unique effort to allow learners of all ages, and from all over the world, to participate in UMPI online and on-site* courses for free.
