Our Business Administration degree program offers our students a combination of a robust core curriculum with the opportunity to choose from a multitude of concentrations to satisfy many differing areas of focused study. Our concentrations include Accounting, Leadership, Marketing, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and Outdoor Recreation. Our curriculum is meticulously crafted to provide students with comprehensive exposure to essential business functions, including accounting, finance, communication (both written and oral), organizational behavior, marketing, change management, human resource management, project management, information systems, and elements of entrepreneurship. In addition to a traditional classroom setting, adult learners seeking a BA in Business Administration or MAOL Masters degree have the option of participating in UMPI’s YourPace program, our online competency-based degree completion program (CBE).  By its nature, the YourPace program offers adult learners an adaptive platform to move through competencies with content focused on mastery of stated outcomes. The competencies are structured to recognize your previous learning, allowing you to spend more time on the information you are less familiar with, saving you time to completion.   We have mapped these competencies back to our traditional courses that in turn, lead to a bachelors degree in business administration.


Our Accounting concentration offers students a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles and practices essential for success in various professional roles. Through rigorous coursework and hands-on projects, students develop proficiency in financial analysis, auditing, and taxation, preparing them for careers in public accounting firms, corporate finance departments, or government agencies. Our dedicated faculty members bring real-world experience to the classroom, offering mentorship and guidance to help students excel in the dynamic field of accounting, ensuring they graduate ready to make an immediate impact in the industry.

In this concentration, you get the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in the classroom and in the field related to Recreation, Tourism and Leisure.

Our concentration offers students:

  • A comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a variety of careers in both the public and private sectors of Recreation and Leisure services.
  • A comprehensive internship program that requires students to get experience in a field that interests them.
  • Opportunities to travel as far away as Alaska and participate in jobs ranging from white water rafting and working in National Parks to running community recreation programs and camps.
  • Practical and applied applications of outdoor recreation, recreation management and community recreation.

In achieving our learning objectives, we work to ensure that our students are able to: discuss leadership theory, demonstrate leadership abilities, and articulate a personal and professional vision of leadership; develop and implement program plans for a variety of agencies and constituents; develop skills in backcountry trip planning, design, implementation and assessment; and apply recreation and leisure service theories and philosophies in an internship setting.

Our Supply Chain Management concentration offers students a deep dive into the intricacies of global supply chains and logistics networks. Through coursework and practical experiences, students learn to optimize supply chain operations, manage inventory effectively, and enhance overall supply chain performance. Emphasizing sustainability and ethical considerations, students are prepared to address modern supply chain challenges and emerge as strategic thinkers and problem solvers in fields such as logistics, operations management, or procurement.
