Discover the Humanities Minor at UMPI
The Humanities Minor at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) provides students with a multidisciplinary approach to studying human culture, thought, and expression. This minor requires students to take courses across at least three different areas within the humanities, ensuring a broad and diverse educational experience. Additionally, students must complete a minimum of nine upper-level credits in two of these areas, which allows for both depth and breadth in their studies.
UMPI’s Humanities Minor is designed to complement any major, enriching students’ understanding of various cultural and intellectual traditions. This program fosters critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills, which are valuable in numerous career paths. The flexibility of the minor allows students to tailor their coursework to their interests, whether in literature, philosophy, history, or other humanities disciplines.
