Jason Parent

“My wings have taken me from journalism to higher education to healthcare. I serve as the Director of Advancement at TAMC (The Aroostook Medical Center), the largest employer and non-profit organization in northern Maine. I also have 14 years of experience in higher education, having worked at both Northern Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Fort Kent. I am a former Executive Director of the Greater Madawaska Chamber of Commerce and began my professional career as a reporter for WAGM-TV.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle was the perfect choice for me. I have always wanted to make a positive difference in my community and selecting UMPI to pursue my bachelor’s degree provided the opportunity to not only stay here in The County, but to stay involved. I was able to live what I learned in the classroom by engaging in opportunities, both on and off campus, that allowed me to pursue my passion.
