“After graduating from UMPI in ’73, I became a Physical Education and Health Education teacher at Fort Fairfield Middle School. Then I started teaching Health Education for SAD 40 Waldoboro union. After that, I became the National Health Education Advisor for the Alliance for a Healthier Genereation. I am now the Executive Director of Maine AHPERD, President of MANPERD. I work for the AAHE (American Association for Health Education) and Society State Directors for HPE. I won the AAHPERD McKenzie Award and became a AAE fellow. I am also a Principle writer of the National Health Education Standards Committee, first and second edition. I am a part of a management committee with Health Education (SCASS), and I also work with state collaboration measurement and student standards.”
