Yesterday, Governor Janet Mills announced that, starting today, Maine is updating its public health guidance to remove the requirement that people wear face coverings in outdoor settings.

For the University of Maine System, we have not yet lifted the requirement for face coverings outdoors.  All students, faculty, and staff should continue to wear face coverings at all times while on campus property until a campus announcement is made changing this requirement.

At this time, we anticipate that the face covering requirement for campus will continue through graduation.  We will alert the community to any changes in the coming weeks.
