Here is some important information for everyone about testing this semester.  Please read carefully for important details, apologies for the length.

The ONLY people who need to receive a negative Covid-19 test before January 25th are the following populations: on-campus residents, winter athletes who are currently in season, and out of state students/faculty/staff who live off campus and came to Maine in the last 14 days.  These groups need to be tested and receive a negative test result before they can attend class, work, or activities.

  • Winter athletes: The athletic department will communicate with you about testing details.

  • Residents of Emerson, Merriman, Skyway:

Testing will be available

  • Thursday, January 21st from 4pm-9pm in Emerson Lobby and Merriman Lobby

  • Friday, January 22nd from 8am-4pm in Emerson Lobby and Merriman Lobby

  • If you are bringing a test from home please bring it to the check in table at your building during these times, or bring the test results to an RA.

  • Out of state students/faculty/staff who DO NOT live on-campus and came to Maine in the last 14 days:

Testing will be available:

  • Friday, January 22nd from 8am-4pm in MMG (first floor of the Campus Center).

Testing During the Week of Monday, January 25th – Sunday, January 31st:

The ONLY people who need to be tested the first week of classes are: on-campus residents, winter athletes who are currently in season, and out of state students/faculty/staff who live off campus and came to Maine in the last 14 days. These groups will be required to participate in this second test to make sure they have not become positive since they took their first test.

  • Winter Athletes: The athletic department will communicate with you about testing details.

  • Residents of Emerson, Merriman, Skyway AND Out of State Students/Faculty/Staff: Testing will be available:

    • Thursday, January 28th from 9am-3pm in MMG

    • Friday, January 29th from 9am-3pm in MMG

Testing from February 1st to the End of the Semester:

EVERYONE who comes to campus for class, work, or regular activities will need to be tested WEEKLY starting the week of February 1st. (If you only come to campus for a few minutes each week to grab mail, or briefly check on something you do not need to participate in this testing.) The testing schedule is as follows:

  • Monday in MMG from 9am-3pm: Emerson Residents and Athletes

  • Tuesday in MMG from 9am-3pm: Merriman/Skyway Residents

  • Wednesday in MMG from 9am-3pm: Faculty/Staff/Off-campus Students and Athletes

  • Thursday in MMG from 9am-3pm: Faculty/Staff/Off-campus Students

  • Friday in MMG from 9am-1pm: Athletes and anyone who missed their regular day.

***Faculty/Staff/Off-campus Students will be able to select Wednesday or Thursday, whichever day works best for your schedule.  You do not need to tell us which day you plan to use.

Weekly testing is mandatory starting February 1st for anyone who comes to campus for class, work, or activities.  If you do not show up for testing you will lose access to campus, and/or possibly receive further disciplinary action.

If you have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 90 days you should email Sarah Coyer or Fred Thomas immediately.  If you have tested positive you will be exempt from testing for 90 days from the date of your positive test result, so we will work with you to collect documentation and put you on our exemption list.

We will be sharing additional information in the coming days and weeks.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance as we work to keep our community safe for all.

Best,

Sarah
