UMPI’s Libra Series presents Maya Williams

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present Maya Williams, former poet laureate of Portland, Maine, and New England Book Award and Maine Literary Award finalist, as a 2024-2025 Libra Distinguished Lecture Series speaker on Wednesday, March 5 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center. Williams will deliver a presentation titled What’s So Wrong with a Pity Party Anyway? The public is encouraged to attend this free event, which will also be offered virtually through Zoom.

UMPI to offer new Master’s degree to support workforce needs

With a focus on meeting state workforce needs and providing working adults with a direct, affordable, and entirely online pathway to a postgraduate degree and subsequent career advancement, the University of Maine at Presque Isle is establishing a Master of Science in Business (MSB) degree program. As UMPI’s second-ever master’s degree, the high-demand program includes 10 associated concentrations and serves as the newest addition to UMPI’s YourPace offerings.

A special tree in the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center is one of more than a dozen Trent’s Trees across the state on display to help those who are coping with grief and loss during the holidays. This interactive holiday project was created by the Maine-based nonprofit Stay; For Life.
