UMPI presents UNITY Project art installation

An interactive art installation that celebrates the differences that tie people together returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle this September and all are invited to help “build” the structure. This will be the third year that UMPI presents the UNITY Project on campus.

UMPI hosts region’s first Adapted PE Workshop

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host the area’s first-ever Adapted Physical Education Workshop, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Tim Davis, of the State University of New York at Cortland, on Friday, Sept. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Gentile Hall. The workshop is designed for Physical Education teachers and college students.

L.A. comedian Justin Rupple returns to UMPI

Los Angeles-based comedian Justin Rupple returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for an evening of comedy on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Campus Center. This event is free for UMPI students with ID, and a $5 general admission fee.

UMPI hosts annual fall blood drive

The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s National Society of Leadership and Success will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept. 19 from Noon to 5 p.m. in the Gentile Hall gym. Members of the campus and community are invited and encouraged to participate in this free event; walk-ins are welcome.

Reed Art Gallery presents Sandra Huck exhibit

The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Art Gallery presents Letting the Objects Speak: Conversations with Found Objects by Sandra Huck, between Aug. 26 and Oct. 11, 2019. The public is invited to view the exhibition throughout the show’s run and attend the Gallery Reception on Friday, Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m., which includes a talk with the artist at 5:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be served.

UMPI alum organizes Literacy Tea

Gentile Hall hosts Wellness Week Sept. 23-26

UMFK Nursing BSN sees busy first year at UMPI, doubles slots for Fall 2019

Following a successful first year of the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program delivered at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and as part of continued efforts to address the statewide nursing cliff, officials are doubling the number of slots for Fall 2019. The nursing expansion in Presque Isle is part of the University of Maine System commitment to doubling nursing enrollment over the next five years to address the shortage that is expected to grow to 2,700 vacancies by 2025.
