The University of Maine at Presque Isle will celebrate the 232nd birthday of the signing of the U.S. Constitution with a new event this year. UMPI’s Student Activities Office will present an interactive forum, Decision 2020 featuring MTV’s Nick Brown, on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Noon in Campus Center.
An interactive art installation that celebrates the differences that tie people together returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle this September and all are invited to help “build” the structure. This will be the third year that UMPI presents the UNITY Project on campus.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host the area’s first-ever Adapted Physical Education Workshop, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Tim Davis, of the State University of New York at Cortland, on Friday, Sept. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Gentile Hall. The workshop is designed for Physical Education teachers and college students.
Los Angeles-based comedian Justin Rupple returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for an evening of comedy on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Campus Center. This event is free for UMPI students with ID, and a $5 general admission fee.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s National Society of Leadership and Success will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept. 19 from Noon to 5 p.m. in the Gentile Hall gym. Members of the campus and community are invited and encouraged to participate in this free event; walk-ins are welcome.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Art Gallery presents Letting the Objects Speak: Conversations with Found Objects by Sandra Huck, between Aug. 26 and Oct. 11, 2019. The public is invited to view the exhibition throughout the show’s run and attend the Gallery Reception on Friday, Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m., which includes a talk with the artist at 5:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be served.
Children’s book lovers of all ages will have a brand new event to enjoy—complete with themed and decorated tables, crafts, and snacks—when The Literacy Tea takes place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to Noon in the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center.
The staff at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Gentile Hall are encouraging everyone to “fall into fitness” as they celebrate Wellness Week between Monday and Thursday, Sept. 23 and 26. Campus and community members of all ages are invited to take part in fun activities focused on healthy living. All events are free and open to the public.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Student Activities Office hosts comedian Feraz Ozel for a night of laughs on Friday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium in Wieden Hall. This event is open to the public and there is a $5 general admission.
