Comedy returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle when up-and-coming comedian Jessi Campbell–who has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing–takes the stage in the Auditorium at Wieden Hall on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. This night of laughs is sponsored by UMPI’s Student Activities Office; it will be free and open to the public and is rated PG-13.
Campbell takes comedy to a whole new level with her sharp and unique brand of storytelling that she has performed at over 200 colleges, military bases, bars, and over 100 comedy clubs. She has been described as relatable to both men and women and even “straight-up gangsta.”
With over 40 dates scheduled on the tour, Campbell consistently provides her audiences with laugh after laugh. In addition to NBC’s Last Comic Standing, she has appeared on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. She was also named 2015 Female Performer of the Year by Campus Activities magazine (an award she was also nominated for in 2013). Her debut comedy CD Winner Winner has been featured on iTunes and can be heard on Sirius/XM Radio, Pandora Radio, and radio stations across the country.
She was a part of the ARMY I.A.M. Strong Tour, and has performed at Gilda’s LaughFest, The Great American Comedy Festival, The Boston Comedy Festival, San Francisco’s SketchFest, and was the People’s Choice winner at the 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.
