UMPI Colleagues,
Today is National Employee Appreciation Day and I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each one of you.
Your hard work and unwavering commitment to service excellence and an outstanding education are the foundation upon which our campus thrives. You play a crucial role on our campus in helping to shape the experiences of our students, faculty, staff, and community. We want to ensure that you know that your work never goes unnoticed, and your dedication is truly appreciated.
From the custodial staff who ensure our facilities are clean and safe, to the administrative personnel who keep operations running smoothly, to the IT team who helps keep us connected, to the faculty who inspire and educate our students, to the support services staff who provide care and mentoring encouragement, and to everyone in every position here at the University of Maine at Presque Isle – your contributions are invaluable.
To all of those who have seen this institution through challenging and uncertain times– my thanks for the assurance and constancy and vision you have provided. You have made us the educational and institutional leader who we are today. For all of those new(er) to UMPI, or in new roles at UMPI, we cannot be happier to have you as part of our team and hope you will be as inspired by your colleagues as greatly as I have been. UMPI is truly a family, and that is one of the greatest reasons why I’ve made it my home for 27 years.
Thank you for everything you do to make our campus community a welcoming place we can be proud of. And please don’t forget (if you are in the Presque Isle area and on campus) to enjoy lunch today at Kelly Commons with your colleagues provided gratis by our friends at Sodexo!
With sincere gratitude,
