University announces 2018 graduates

One hundred and sixty students graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle during the 2017-2018 academic year. On Saturday, May 12, during the 2018 Commencement Exercises, the University’s 109th Commencement, President Ray Rice conferred degrees upon 127 students who participated in the ceremony held in Wieden Gymnasium.

One hundred and seventy students graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday, May 12, during the 2018 Commencement Exercises—the University’s 109th Commencement ceremony. UMPI President Raymond Rice conferred degrees for the 2017-2018 academic year upon 112 students who participated in the ceremony held in Wieden Gymnasium.

When Jessica and Christopher Morley participate in the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s graduation ceremony on May 12, it will be a family affair. The couple, who are among the 170 students graduating from UMPI this academic year, have been married for 16 years, have been working for the last six years to complete their degrees, and have four children between the ages of 6 and 15 who will be cheering them on as they receive their diplomas.

Maine Law, UMPI sign Accelerated Law Pathway agreement

In an effort to prepare the next generation of attorneys for positions that need to be filled in Aroostook County, officials with the University of Maine School of Law and the University of Maine at Presque Isle signed an agreement on May 3 providing an Accelerated Law Pathway for UMPI students.

Goldenberg Duo to perform at UMPI May 2

As part of its tour of the Atlantic Provinces and Maine, the Goldenberg Duo brings a night of classical music and other contemporary pieces to the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium in Wieden Hall. The performance by this brother and sister piano and violin duo is open to the public and free; donations will be accepted at the door for future cultural arts programming.
