Artist installing outdoor sculptures ahead of solar eclipse

Savannah-based artist and Savannah College of Art and Design professor Henry Dean is creating a series of outdoor sculptures throughout the U.S.—including one in front of South Hall on the University of Maine at Presque Isle campus—designed to coincide with the upcoming 2024 solar eclipse’s “path of totality.”

UMPI mourns passing of former president

Members of the University of Maine at Presque Isle community are mourning the passing of Donald N. Zillman, the institution’s 10th president, who served from 2006-2012. Zillman died July 27, 2023, at the age of 79.

University of Maine at Presque Isle President Ray Rice has announced that former UMPI President Donald N. Zillman and first lady Linda G. Zillman will deliver a joint commencement address and receive Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degrees during the University’s 113th Commencement Ceremony, to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Spoken word artist performs March 8
