The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host a Job Action Day Networking Event on Monday, Nov. 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Normal Hall Lounge. In celebration of November 5th as National Job Action Day, UMPI will hold this event to empower and inspire anyone looking to find a job, find more fulfillment in their work, or plan the next steps in their career. Job Action Day is presented by UMPI’s Career Readiness Program, Conferences and Special Programs, the Students Activities Office, and University Credit Union. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
Job Action Day will provide local Aroostook County employers and students in their final year of school the chance to connect and network with each other. Many students are either looking for a job or planning the next steps in their careers as they prepare to graduate. Organizers explained that networking with area employers and professionals is a great way to prepare.
“Networking is such an important skill for everyone to have, so we thought that providing an event specifically for our students was the best way to introduce them to networking and at the same time help them practice their skills in networking,” Nicole Fournier, Director of Career Readiness, said. “We hope that both the students and employers/professionals in attendance are able to connect and network. Our hope is that every student will walk away with at least one new connection.”
