UMPI’s Confidential Resource Advisor (CRA) is located in the Campus Center and provides confidential services related to sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence/abuse, and stalking for students and employees in the University of Maine System (UMS). CRAs will not disclose confidential information without the prior written consent of the party who shared that information and are not obligated to report occurrences to the Title IX deputy. However, CRAs are mandated to report any abuse that has occurred/is occurring involving minors.

Services Offered

Confidential Resource Advisors can assist students and employees of the University of Maine System with a number of options that work to protect the safety and well-being of individuals.

  • Talk through what happened
  • Answer questions, or assist with finding information needed for their unique situation
  • Explain available choices regarding systems (medical, university, legal)
  • Assist with academic success through accommodations
  • Clarify options available for staff relating to employment leave and accommodations
  • Provide referrals to support resources on and off campus
  • Ongoing support

The CRA is a UMS employee and therefore shared between two campuses. Students and employees may drop in to see if they are available, if needed immediately. Otherwise, most appointments are scheduled via phone or email.
