Dear UMPI Community,

With our 115th Commencement Exercises behind us, I am so pleased to share with you the last important component of celebrating our Class of 2024 this graduation season: our virtual graduation ceremony, designed to honor all those graduating students who were unable to join us for our in-person Commencement event. Our Virtual Graduation Ceremony 2024 will premiere on UMPI’s YouTube Channel tomorrow, Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m.

We encourage you to watch the premiere, or enjoy a viewing at your leisure, and help us to celebrate these hard-working students. We’d also appreciate anything you can do to help spread the word and share the link to this event with our greater UMPI community to ensure parents, family, and friends receive this link in time for tomorrow’s premiere.

As I’ve mentioned in past messages, this particular event is meant to ensure that ALL graduating students are recognized and given a special moment to celebrate their accomplishments. Given our online and YourPace student population, and our out-of-state students who aren’t able to stay for Commencement, we will always have students who aren’t able to join us for our in-person event. This year, we had about 120 graduating students who participated in Commencement, and about 340 graduating students who couldn’t be there. We are so pleased to have found another way to celebrate them. Please enjoy the ceremony.
