Resident Assistants
Residence Life Assistants (RAs) are crucial members of the residential life team in college or university settings. Their primary role is to support and assist residents with their living needs and concerns within the campus housing or residence halls. RAs are current students who have undergone comprehensive training to provide guidance and promote a positive living experience for their fellow residents.

Resident Assistants (RAs) are an important on-campus position which helps with serving the residential community by:
- Acting as an administrative link between housing residents and the Housing and Residence Life Department.
- Helping residents with personal problems, roommate conflicts, and other housing-related issues.
- Keeping the Department advised of residents’ concerns and issues.
- Play a major role in facilitating programs that provide residents with a variety of educational, cultural, recreational, and social activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- GPA Requirement: Achieve a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 and an overall GPA of 2.5.
- Good conduct history
- Credit Requirements:
- Academic Year RA: Full-time student (Undergrad: 12 Credits/Semester, 6 Credits minimum if graduating; Grad: 6 Credits/Semester)
- Summer RA: Enrolled in SU24 Classes or Enrolled FT in FA24 by the start of SU.
- Res Hall Experience: Must have lived in a Residence Hall for at least 2 semesters by the start of employment (at least one of those 2 semesters must have been at UMPI.)

- Incomplete applications will not be considered for this position. (ie. lack of resume/references, applications which failed to select an interview time, or do not show up to their interview).
